Hello Friend.
This is a real time ask for prayer and help.
Andrea is with Michael at his bedside. He is not yet asleep. He started to get a fever about 2 hours ago; thankfully, we prayed, and it went back down to normal.
The doctors told us if his temperature goes to 100.4 degrees, he has to be admitted to the emergency room immediately. And then of course, another 4 1/2 hour ride to the hospital...being admitted...please God, not again.
He had another chemo treatment this past Friday, and will receive another one this coming Friday. The chemo is making him constipated. He has little appetite. This is a big problem.
If you are getting this tonight (Monday night) or at any point, please pray Michael does not need to be hospitalized again.
Next: We are moving this weekend to Memphis. We have been scrambling all day, packing, making arrangements for our home and office here in West Virginia, and trying to get furniture and simple household belongings lined up for Memphis for our family, and for the McDonalds, who are moving with us.
Very stressful: I have been on the phone for the last two days asking friends to try to raise money for moving costs, rent in Memphis, security deposits, utilities, etc..
If you can help in any way, I beg your assistance. If you want to give toward the move, and the rent in Memphis, click here.
Also, what follows is letter from Christie Pillado, one of my wife's closest friends, explaining in great detail the items we and the McDonalds need as we venture to Memphis.
With all my heart, I beg your prayers.
Randall Terry
“A Tale of Two Houses”
I am writing to you as a friend of Andrea and Randall Terry. Andrea and I are close friends and I am writing to you as a mother and friend. Michael Terry is a dear friend of my children. We are too far away in Arizona right now. I have been praying that I can, in some way, give them concrete help in this very difficult time. God is so good and has given me an opportunity. I am also praying that other people who love and respect Andrea and Randall will want to help as well.
You may be familiar with Randall's pro-life work as the founder of Operation Rescue or the host of the daily TV show, Voice of Resistance. If not, you are surely familiar with helping those around you. I pray that you have been helped in your past hour of need and will be helped in any such instance in the future.
The Terry family is relocating on November 4 to the Memphis area for work, and to be near St. Jude for cancer treatment for one of their sons. Randall and Andrea have four sons – ages 7 to 11. Their ten-year-old son – Michael Winston – has cancer; Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a systemic blood-borne cancer. He was diagnosed in early October and through his parents diligence and tenacity started chemotherapy within one week of initial testing.
The Terry’s currently live in WV, about 4-½ hours drive from Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, where Michael is being treated. As you can imagine, traveling 4 or 5 hours each way to the hospital every week is challenging. When there are complications, the emergency plan to get Michael from his home in West Virginia to the hospital is to take him to the local emergency room and then travel either by helicopter or ambulance to Baltimore. Because most children receiving this type of chemotherapy are admitted to the hospital several times outside their normally scheduled times, Michael’s care and safety cannot be served well at such a great distance. (They have already had to do this once - the 4 1/2 ambulance ride, and admitting Michael on an emergency basis was not easy or pleasant.)
Therefore, the entire Terry family, as well as Randall’s TV producer, Layne McDonald (and his wife) are relocating to the Memphis area for work, with the blessing of being 25 minutes from St. Jude Children’s Hospital. If Michael has a problem, or for his regular visits, they will be 25 minutes, not 4 1/2 hours. But now, they have to move over 800 miles by November 4.
Let that sink in. Four young children, one with cancer, and their parents are moving out of state. Daunting. Obviously the fewer things they have to move, the easier and quicker it is for them to travel.
The Terry and McDonald families have rented two UNFURNISHED homes in the Cordova area (a Memphis suburb.) Both families need humble furnishings for their homes. There is not much time to try to put two households together so that Michael can begin his next phase of treatment at St. Jude, and Randall and Layne can continue with the daily TV show.
We need help getting these two houses furnished with basic necessities ASAP. Items they need are listed below. Could you please help me get these two families what they need to get settled?
I (Christie) will coordinate what items have been secured, and which ones are still needed. My cell phone is 915-240-9731. If you have any of the items they need, please call me ASAP. I will be traveling to Memphis the first week of November to help get the Terry family house in order so that my dear friend can focus on mothering her children and navigating a new hospital and team of doctors. I would be on the ground in Memphis now to work this but my own young children are here in Arizona so my time away from my home is limited.
Please, if you live in the Memphis area or know someone who does, consider this request for furniture and home items. If you are not local to the area but would still like to help you can send a gift card in any amount (Prepaid Visa or Wal-Mart cards, Whole Food Store, etc) or you can donate online here to help with moving expenses. (Send gift cards to Andrea Terry, PO Box 910 Romney WV, 26757. They will be forwarded to the Terry's in Memphis until we can get a PO Box in Memphis to receive them directly.)
A Memphis family has graciously offered to receive the items you are able to donate the week of Monday, October 28 through Saturday, November 2. On Monday through Friday, they can receive the items from 1:00 P.M. to 7 P.M. On Saturday, they will receive any items from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon.
Again, the times are:
Monday (10/28) through Friday (11/1) from 1:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Saturday, November 2nd (11/2) from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon

Your prayers are invaluable. They have sustained and are continuing to sustain the Terry family. Please, please, keep storming heaven with prayers for Michael's complete healing and the wisdom and care from his doctors. Please pray for Randall, Andrea and Michael's brothers to continue to rally for the long fight and to stay strong for Michael and for each other. Please pray for the McDonalds as well, who have graciously offered to uproot and relocate to help the Terry's and continue the TV show.
Again, please contact me at 915.240.9731 or BFhelp@gmail.com if you can help in any way with furnishings or other household items or gift cards / donations.
God Bless You,
Christine Pillado
